The Division of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Massachusetts
Medical School has an opening for a post-doctoral fellow to work on an NIH funded research
grant related to hybrid PET imaging. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in
biomedical/electrical engineering, physics, medical physics, or a related field. Strong
mathematical skills and competence in scientific programming (C, IDL Matlab, UNIX, LINUX)
is essential. Previous research experience with medical imaging, image reconstruction,
detection and estimation theory, Nuclear Medicine instrumentation, and Monte Carlo
simulation is desirable. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for gaining
exposure to the Nuclear Medicine clinic and teaching experience if desired. This position
carries a minimum two-year commitment, after which promotion to a Faculty position is
possible.
